About Me

Adopted as a baby first living in Spain, ran away as a teen becoming a teen mother of two experiencing housing and food insecurities throughout all my adult years. I have lived a full life living, working, sleeping on the street, in shelters and in mod-rehab housing throughout all parts of the city.

During my time contracting at the Anacostia Community Museum I was raising my autistic child and my other child with ADHD while living in ward 7 while taking care of my paranoid schizophrenic mother in ward 6 and commuting metro at first and then by car to my kids' schools in ward 5. Between me and my kids we have experienced public schools, charter schools, catholic school, private school and homeschooling. My oldest is currently a tutor at a charter school.

Once my contract ended at the museum I got involved into the world of organizing and advocacy at Bread for the City. Since my mother's death and the horrors of the probate court my views and approach in DC politics have changed, maybe even evolved since the pandemic.

I hope my personal insights and stories opens up a world of change by changing minds of what living through constant traumas within a oppressive country.
